Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices (a GPS unit or your phone). Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
At Sarett, we offer about ten permanently placed caches along our trails for you to find! USE THIS BROCHURE to find out more details about geocaching and to see the GPS coordinates of our Sarett caches.
We have a few GPS units available for rental (in exchange for a license) for visitors to use during their time at Sarett. You can also download the free Geocaching app on your smartphone and see the caches located around Sarett trails and navigate to them.
What you are looking for: A small container anywhere from the size of a magnet to a small shoebox. They are hidden out of view so a casual passerby will not see them. Once found, you can write your name in the logbook and return the cache to the same place.
