Beginning Kayak Lessons

June 26, Sunday, 1:00 PM - For ages 16 and older. Join a Sarett naturalist at North Lake Park to learn the basics of kayaking. Members/$20, Non-members/$25. Please call (269) 927-4832 to register. Kayaks, paddles, and PFDs are included. You may bring your own equipment if you prefer.

Silver Foxes: Southwest Michigan Trail Initiatives

June 29, Wednesday, 11:00 AM - Join us with guest speaker Kristopher Martin from the Southwest Michigan Planning Commission to learn about non-motorized trail initiatives in southwest Michigan! Bob Ross and Rosé

Saturday, July 9, 6:00 -8:00 PM - Ages 21 & up. Sarett is teaming up with Moonrise Winery for an evening of art and libations as we follow along with a Bob Ross tutorial, looking out over the happy trees in our Great Room. Space is limited so please call (269) 927-4832 to register. Members/$38, Non-members/$45 (Price includes one glass of wine and take-home canvas. Additional glasses may be purchased at time of program).

The Mysterious Mitchell’s Satyr

July 10, Sunday, 1:30 PM - Sarett is one of the few places in the world that has prime habitat for this federally endangered butterfly. Join our director, Nate Fuller, to learn its habitat needs and natural history. We’ll include a walk to try to see the butterfly in flight. Please call (269) 927-4832 to register. Women in Nature Event: Kayak the St. Joseph River

July 16, Saturday, 11:00 AM - Meet our naturalists at Fisherman’s Haven in Berrien Springs and travel down the St. Joseph River to take out at the Jasper Dairy launch. We will provide the kayak, paddle, and a PFD. You are always welcome to bring your own equipment, too. Please call (269) 927-4832 to register. Member/$20, Non-member/$25.

Stewardship Day

July 24, Sunday, 10:00 AM – Noon - Join a naturalist in helping restore and maintain native plant ecosystems at Sarett. Volunteers will help by removing invasive plants while learning to identify key species of both native and invasive plants. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Call (269) 927-4832 to register.

Silver Foxes: Butterflies

Kayak the Paw Paw River

August 13, Saturday, 10:00 AM -1:00 PM - Use your paddling skills and a naturalist guide to navigate the beautiful Paw Paw River Water Trail from County Line Road to the Paw Paw River County Park at Watervliet. Meet at Paw Paw River County Park and we will transfer to the put-in. Members/$20, Non-members/$25.

Wilderness Survival Skills 101

August 14, Sunday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM - Learn the basics of wilderness survival. These skills are beneficial for any outdoor enthusiasts and apply to many recreational activities. Participants will learn fire building, shelter making, food & water prep, bushcraft, and many useful tricks. Ages 18+. Members/$20, Non-members/$25.
