November and December 2018 Announcements
BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS! We are looking for people to donate gently used nature books. These might include field guides, nature travel guides, children’s books, etc. If you have nature or science books you can donate for this sale we would greatly appreciate it. Please feel free to bring them during business hours any time before November 8. Please no magazines.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS are due. If you have received a reminder notice in the mail please take the time out to support Sarett again this year! Membership is a vital part of the nature center’s budget. If you have not renewed, please take a moment to do so. Thank you to all who have taken the time to renew your membership. It is greatly appreciated!
MEMORIALS & HONORARIUMS: Memorials were made in the names of Marge Johnson and Jan Pendergrass.
2019 NATURAL HISTORY TRIPS: We are starting to complete itineraries for next year’s trips.
- Baha, Mexico—January 27-February 2 (We are currently taking sign ups. Please contact us for an itinerary or if you have any questions.)
- Southern Illinois in Spring– Unique sandstone formations, waterfalls, cypress swamp, Shawnee National Forest, nature preserves, state parks, beautiful wildflowers. We are planning for mid April.
- Up North Kayak—Mid June. River(s) yet to be determined.
- Yellowstone National Park—Mid September
- Iceland—Beginning of October
Please let us know if you are interested in any of these trips and we will send a complete itinerary when it is ready.
MEMBERSHIP: Sarett Nature Center is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to teaching environmental education. Donations, contributions and memberships support Sarett.
