Wine, Glide, & Dine!

WINE, GLIDE, & DINE / SPONSORED BY 12 CORNERS WINERY January 25, Saturday, 6:00-9:00 pm - Join us as the evening sky and solar lamps will guide us as we glide on our skis (or walk if there is no snow) over Sarett's trails. Stop to enjoy a fire & hot cider or three tastings of the six varieties of wine from 12 Corners Winery! The lighted trail will end back at the nature center where more drinks and a variety of soup will be waiting! We will also have beer, wine, and soda for sale. Please bring a dish or snack to pass, your own table service, and a favorite non-alcoholic beverage if you'd like. Call (269)-927-4832 to register. Cost: $3/member adult, $5/non-member adult. Ski rental is available for $7/member adult, $4/member child, $10/non-member adult, and $5/non-member child. THIS EVENT WILL HAPPEN WITH OR WITHOUT SNOW!

Women’s Cross-country Ski Lesson & Guided Ski

WOMEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY SKI LESSON & GUIDED SKI- January 26, Sunday, 2:00-3:30 pm - Sarett naturalists, Carolyn and Juliet, will present a short indoor introduction about the history of skiing and different skiing techniques. Afterwards, they will have an outdoor lesson, followed by a guided ski on Sarett’s trails. Already an experienced skier? This is a great opportunity for skiers of all levels to meet other active outdoor women! Member/ $10, Non-member/ $15. Price includes admission, lesson, ski rental if needed, and hot chocolate!

WINTER BIRD OUTING - February 1, Saturday, 10:00 am - Join us for a winter birding adventure. We will travel to where the birds are—it could be Allegan State Game Area for eagle watching or around Berrien County for snowy owls. Plan to make a morning and early afternoon of it. Mulled Wine at the Nature Center

Enjoy a toast on Groundhog's Day, February 2nd, 2020 at the Nature Center! Every adult (21+) will receive a ticket with their purchase of admission, good for one free glass of mulled wine on behalf of 12 Corners Vineyards! Go for a walk, ski, or snowshoe on our trails then come back in and enjoy the warm glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate. The cost of adult admission is $3. Members are free. The Nature Center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the mulled wine will be available starting at Noon.

Cross-country Ski Beginner Lessons for Adults

Owl Prowl

OWL PROWL - February 8, Saturday, 6:00 pm - It’s nesting season for the owls! Join director, Nate Fuller, to learn about owls at Sarett. Nate will introduce you to our owl ambassadors, teach you different owl calls, and go out looking, and listening, for owls on the property. Hoooo knows you may learn something new! Tortoises & Ravens Program

TORTOISES & RAVENS - February 9, Sunday, 2:00 pm - Protecting desert tortoises with laser rifle drones and 3-D printers may sound like science fiction. Teaching ravens to teach other ravens to not eat tortoises sounds like a children’s story. Sarett welcomes conservation ecologist Craig Sherwood to share how people are using modern technology and improved understanding of animal behavior to save endangered species.

Junior Naturalist

JUNIOR NATURALIST - February 15, Saturday, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM A special club for kids ages 7-12 who are really interested in nature. Find out what it means to be a Sarett naturalist. We’ll learn about the animals of Sarett and their care, do projects, and have a lot of fun as we discover the natural world. Club size is limited. We will also meet March 21, April 18 & May 23.
